A Whole New World…yep, I have officially entered the world of “weddings”. Strange and slightly scary, I entered this expo with no idea of what was in store, except I was told that their would be food there. Alessa, on the other hand, was giddy with excitement and could not wait to see everything and get her awesome goody bag for the Bride-to-Be.
This evening, Wednesday, August 18th, we were invited by the Orlando Science Center to their wedding showcase called ‘Unveiled.’ We want to thank Orlando Science Center for inviting us and making us feel special, especially Alessa who was smiling so bright that it made my heart skip a beat, just seeing her joy and excitement. I have to admit, I was a little excited myself, and having this here at the Orlando Science Center I felt was pretty cool and unique.
Unveil is your one-stop-shop for all things wedding. Their wedding showcasel highlighted unique and exciting venue spaces, and gave us a glimpse into how these fantastic vendors can transform the Science Center into the wedding of your dreams. I would have never in my wildest imagination thought about having our wedding here, but I do have to be honest, it was pretty awesome!
Located just outside downtown Orlando in beautiful and historic Loch Haven Park, Orlando Science Center’s unique architecture and creative energy does make it the quintessential setting for a wedding. With a wonderful combination of both indoor and outdoor spaces, making for extraordinary wedding backdrops. Setting the scene for a wedding couldn’t be more exciting with their picturesque Terrace, interactive Our Planet exhibit hall, and a few larger-than-life friends in DinoDigs. Who wouldn’t want a prehistoric T-Rex watching you and your new spouse dancing the night away.
With panoramic unobstructed views of Downtown Orlando, and a sky full of stars, FINFROCK Terrace will capture every inch of wedding magic. Tie the knot with a ceremony on the Terrace, enjoy cocktail hour as the sun sets in the distance overlooking the City Beautiful or dance the night away under a canopy of market lights during a moonlit reception. FINFROCK Terrace invites each couples’ unique style, taste, and personality to take shape in our most customizable space. It also provides plenty of room for dinner, dancing, and all of your wedding celebration.
From out of this world experiences, interactive games during cocktail hour, great food and cocktails, signature drinks for your special day and a wonderful staff who wants to make sure that you get the attention to detail that you deserve for your big day and so that well, we hopefully don’t stress more than we have to, we were very impressed with everything that we got see, experience, taste and sip.
The saying “I love you to the moon and back” surely takes on a special meaning here at the Orlando Science Center. Having your wedding under the stars (yes, the REAL solar systems), your guest being able to launch paper airplanes, predict the weather in the weather station and get ‘all shook up’ in the earthquake simulator during cocktail hour, make this certainly a one-of-a-kind wedding experience that your guests will be talking about for years to come. I really enjoy the fact that even though it may be mine and Alessa’s special day, we can make it just as special and fun for those guests that we want to share it with us. You can even choose the Death Star and invite your guests to a galaxy far, far away! Again, these concepts really blew me away.
They offer everything from catering, cocktails, decor and event coordination with a personal coordinator to help you before and during your ceremony so that you and your wedding party are stress free and organized. Their venue spaces can hold up to 250 people (of course we can hold many more through the live stream), including tables, chairs, rehearsal ceremony, engagement photo time, complimentary garage parking, additional staff for guests and much more. They will also work with your wedding vendors such as florists, photographers and caterers as well as give you their preferred vendors.
I have to say that Alessa and I truly had a wonderful night and we learned a lot and of course, got a ton of ideas for our special day. Whatever Alessa decides, I know that I will love it and frankly, we discovered that we like the same ideas and concepts. Honestly, I know that our wedding day will be amazing no matter where we choose to have it but knowing that the Orlando Science Center is an option, makes the planning so much more fun.
