Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive- A Great Off Property Resort Option

When our family would come down to the theme parks in Orlando, every 2-3 years, staying at a resort on property was a little out of our budget. That is probably the story with many Orlando vacation seekers, looking for a reasonably priced yet comfortable resort with lots of amenities.

Well, we were privileged to be invited to stay at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive and we were so happy to see everything that this resort had to offer. It is conveniently located-just like the name implies-right on International Drive.

The resort is a very short distance from some of the iconic I-Drive attractions such as Madame Tussaud’s Orlando, Skeletons-Museum of Osteology, SEALIFE Orlando Aquarium, Ripley’s Believe it or Not as well as premium shopping outlets. Steps away, we saw, is the ICON Park complex, home of the StarFlyer (yes, we will be going on that soon) and The Wheel which was amazing and you will be able to see ‘through the lens of this livestreamer’ as well as restaurants and nightlife hangouts. You even receive two complimentary I-Trolley tickets so that you can ride up and down I-Drive and check out all of the fun along the strip.

Our room was spacious and comfortable and looked newly renovated. WiFi is included in the resort fee and the room has a mini fridge, Wolfgang Puck Coffee Maker, large TV and BeWell bedding which was awesome.

We were able to check out some of the food options and yes, the drink options as well at Gatorville, their Florida themed sports bar serving wings, hamburgers, etc, and all sorts of beers and cocktails.

This was the perfect place to hang out for a flip flop tank top wearing Florida guy. Of course, everyone knows the love for chicken and they had many different items to choose from on the menu from our go-to chicken quesadillas to the Gatorville chicken wings. For those asking, yes, they have gator bites and no, we did not have any. They have a lot to choose from including salads, specialty burgers up to steak and seafood.

They also offer a Homestyle Market Breakfast Buffet that you can indulge and energize up before heading out for the day. We also hit up the Barista for that special coffee to perk us up and tried a few sugary treats as well.

The resort has a beautiful pool and it wasn’t very busy while we were there. It is super convenient that Gatorville Poolside Bar and Grille is only a few steps away. Made our day a very relaxing and enjoyable one, for sure. If you are looking for a late night snack, they do have in room dining as well. They had a great fitness room with a steam room and a sauna, game room for the kids-or kid’s in us-, and in the lobby a giant connect four for the family that wants to get their competition on.

The most awesome part of this resort though, is the fact that they are pet-friendly. As a pet owner, sometimes it is nice to be able to bring along your favorite furry friend to spend a little vacation time with you as well. There are even many of the restaurants in the walkable neighborhood that have pet-friendly eateries. This option makes this resort one that families may choose so that they don’t have to leave their best friend at home when they come to enjoy Orlando.

We really had a great time here at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive and we would absolutely stay here again. Whether you are attending a convention and being a short distance from the Orange County Convention Center or on your theme park vacation and taking the complimentary shuttles into the parks, this is a beautiful and spacious, family-friendly (and Fido friendly) resort that won’t disappoint.
