This house is over the top! Yes, we have stayed at the awesome and unique designed homes before, from Twelve Parsecs to the magical mayhem of Wizard’s Way, but THIS newly designed and opened creation by Loma Homes is incredible.
Welcome to Raptor Retreat, the third in their collection of themed homes from this creative and hard working team of builders. From the second you walk into the house, you are immersed in a prehistoric place that is filled with dinosaurs of all shapes, sizes and colors, scavengers hunts, fossils, and sights and sounds that leave you wanting more. Each bedroom is different, showcasing a new prehistoric scene with its own unique feel. The layout is open but it takes you through a maze of sorts, discovering just what is lying in the next room that is both fun, thrilling and terrifying at the same time.
Each Loma home is beautiful and quite pensive on the outside, sitting peacefully in this Champion Gate community. But, on the inside, they hold an experience that is unlike any other once you shut the door and step inside. From screeches to clouds even fossils and bones that you can search for on the scavenger hunt, it is almost 4000 square feet of a totally interactive accommodation that everyone will enjoy, especially those that, let’s say, love those Jurassic Park movies. The themed details are awesome, from the dinosaur cookie jar and salt and pepper shaker holder in the kitchen to prehistoric fossils and remains in the bathrooms, there are super fun and unique touches all throughout the home, exemplifying the passion and work that went into creating this amazing experience.
Animals, reptiles, birds of prey and fish with pointy teeth welcome you into each of the bedrooms, themed from jungle adventures to underwater exploration, so choosing which one you will sleep in can be a task. There is also plenty of bathrooms for everyone (five in total), most attached or adjoined to the bedrooms.
The home also has an expansive, modern kitchen with everything you will need on your vacation, all you need to supply is the grub. There are eight bedrooms, so the home is perfect for family reunions, multi-generational stays or even company retreats.
The property also has its own private enclosed patio area which is quite large, and we were super excited to try out the gas grill and fix some dinner as the inflatable dinos looked while they floated around in the pool. Having your own pool and hot tub I feel is a huge plus as you can keep an eye on the kids through the large sliding glass doors or while lounging on the patio. There are safety measures in place as well, so if you have little ones, this gives great peace of mind. It even has its own game room, complete with air hockey, pool, super fun slides and plenty of room for the family to have some fun and the kids to burn off some energy. There is also a washer and dryer and a porta crib and highchair for the littlest of ones.
The house will keep the kids busy so once they are done for the night, there is plenty of space and amenities for the adults. Watching your favorite dino movie in the awesome Dinosaur Valley theatre room (yes, it is also themed) is amazing and even has its own movie theatre styled popcorn maker. Relax in the hot tub, float in the pool, or enjoy some adult beverages on the patio enjoying the Florida weather. There is also areas for board games, XBox with Game Pass, watching TV or if you need to get some work done, plenty of room to spread out. You can also enjoy the Champion’s Gate Clubhouse, with a gym, workout room, water park with lazy river and water slide, theater room, game room, special area for the kids, a bar, sand volleyball court and two golf courses. Needless to say there is plenty to see and do when you stay at a Loma home.
