The Nightmare Before Christmas Comes to Life Through Broadway Stars Hoping to Shine a Light on Charity
Once we hear that ominous but yet happy tune “This is Halloween”, we know that the spooky season has begun (of course there are some of us who listen to it all year long). But now, thanks to some amazing Broadway stars in coordination with director Tim Burton and others, this and other music from the popular Disney film will be performed during a benefit concert streaming on Vimeo Halloween night.
Organized by Tony winner James Monroe Inglehart, who played the Genie in Broadway’s Aladdin, in cooperation with filmmaker Tim Burton, composer Danny Elfman, and Disney Music Group, The Nightmare Before Christmas Halloween Benefit Concert will feature the spooktacular talents of the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt actor, Rafael Casal (Blindspotting), Adrienne Warren (Tina: The Tina Turner Musical), Danny Burstein (Evil), Rob McClure (The Good Fight), and many more. They will perform songs from their homes, using clothes and props they have on hand. In 2018, Elfman hosted a live show at the Hollywood Bowl to celebrate the film’s 25th anniversary but we all know that this is not happening in 2020.
Proceeds from the one-night-only event will go to the Lymphoma Research Foundation and the Actors Fund. Tickets will cost $4.99, yes, ONLY $4.99, and the stream will begin on the Actors Fund Vimeo channel on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. ET.
