On July 19, 2019, we had the great privilege of being invited to Disney’s Animal Kingdom for Protect The Pride, a Lion King Media Day. The day was to raise awareness for the hardships and the struggle that the lion has gone through over the past 10 years, with over half of its population being cut in half.
We also were able to ride the Kilmanjaro Safari and for each guest that rides the week of of Protect the Pride, Disney will donate $2 to the Wildlife Conservation Fund and the Protect the Pride fund specifically for the lion.
We met up with some great people and tried some of the new things that are opening at Animal Kingdom as well such as Rafiki’s Planet Watch, where we rode the train to the Conservatory and had a lesson on how to draw Simba (needless to say we need a few more lessons). We sampled some of the special items being served inspired by the Lion King Movie release and had a great time during the dance party and also were able to see a VIP viewing of the Festival of the Lion King. Overall, we had a roaring good time~
