One of the most exciting things about the International Flower and Garden Festival, is we see small colorful glimpses slowly emerging. From the brightly colored flower beds to the amazing topiaries being set up around EPCOT, it is a little teaser of what is in store and that, gets everyone very excited. Needless to say, landing in Orlando the same day that the festival starts, does make for an action packed and fun filled day ahead!
Flower and Garden, as it is lovingly called, is one of my favorite festivals. Full of beauty and amazing food, it also brings a sense of hope and renewal, something that many of us are truly looking for as we move into 2021. The immense amount of creative blooms that bring in the Spring are everywhere and topiaries of our favorite Disney characters are welcoming us to come in and have a great time.
This year, along with the foliage, is a great deal of food. Festival booths that are serving everything from desserts adorned with flowers to adult beverages lined with hibiscus are plentiful. Earlier this week, we saw the menus posted by Disney Parks Blog and I let you know what my favorites are so far. I cannot wait to get there and try out some of the awesome offerings and see what you think of them.
Again, I have to say my favorite part (I know they are all my favorite) is the music. As mentioned in the previous blog, there will not be the traditional Garden Rocks Concert Series but we will be entertained with local bands, known as ‘City Beautiful’, which, honestly, I am very excited about. As a musician myself, I know how hard it is to get your sound out to the public and I think that Disney is doing a great thing here with showcasing bands and musicians from around Orlando. Here is the line up so far:
