Of course, we are always looking to check out the newest openings around Walt Disney World Resort, so on this stream day, we decided to hop on over to the Grand Floridian Resort, take in some atmosphere, enjoy amazing music by the Grand Floridian Orchestra, now re-located to the main floor of the resort lobby and then sit back and relax at the beautiful and newly opened Enchanted Rose.
Once Mizner’s Lounge, this space has been re-imagined. Inspired by the magic and romance of Disney’s popular live-action movie, “Beauty and the Beast,” the lounge features four unique gathering spaces inspired by Belle and the Beast with elegance around every corner. Above the main bar, you’ll take in the sights of a gorgeous chandelier inspired by Belle’s flowing golden ball gown, while the library showcases classical baroque designs and French furnishings. A garden room takes its inspiration from the enchanted forest surrounding the castle, and an outdoor patio evokes the romance of Beast’s garden terrace.
At the new Enchanted Rose lounge, guests can enjoy shareable bites and a variety of beverages including cocktails, martinis, spirits, beer, cider and non-alcohlic options for guests of all ages.
As we looked over the menu, it features a variety of yummy, shareable and yes, hard to pronounce at times, bites like artisanal cheeses, a house-made flatbread, short rib sliders, and even white sturgeon caviar (we won’t be trying that one, sorry). The lounge’s focal point is its library of wines. Sit back, relax and enjoy charming wines from around the world served by the ounce, glass, or bottle. Along with beer, they also have champagne and cider along with tableside cocktails. We did order an IPA from 3 Daughter’s brewery in St. Petersburg, Florida (shout out to St Pete). It was refreshing, light and very tasty and would certainly get it again. Looking at the menu, you can read about a story of love that inspired the Amour cocktail.
There’s also a story of envy to accompany the Envie cocktail. Brian Koziol, Master Sommelier, states “Our tales of tableside cocktails are a contrast of each other. The Amour is a vodka cocktail featuring notes of citrus, pear, and flowers with a slightly sweet taste, while characteristics of the apple brandy Envie showcase apples, herbs, and bitters with a potent taste (thank you to the menu for allowing me to sound so fancy).”
Families are also welcome in the Enchanted Rose so on the menu are beverages without alcohol for guests of all ages. These mocktails include the Garden Spritzer (with herbal distilled non-alcoholic spirit, lime, agave, and soda), the B&B (with iced tea, lemon, blueberry, and basil), and the Rosemary Cooler (with lemonade, vanilla, and rosemary).
Guests can find it on the second floor of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. For more details as well as the menu, visit the Walt Disney World Resort website or check out the My Disney Experience mobile app.
